Oakland Is One of the Worst-Managed Cities in America

I was out shopping this morning and bumped into three firemen also shopping at my store. We got to talking. I told them I’d heard two firehouses in the Oakland hills where I live got closed. The three men said that is true. They told me four more Oakland firehouses are scheduled to be closed.

I said it’s a shame, especially considering what’s happening in LA, and the fire we had in the Oakland hills a few months ago, and the fire we had in the Oakland hills in 1991. The firemen agreed. They said the closures aren’t their fault, it’s all about money, or the lack of money in Oakland. Of course, the closures aren’t their fault. These are hardworking firemen, and Oakland is selling them out, selling out all us citizens.

Oakland is one of the worst-managed cities in America, especially when you consider the city had to cut the police overtime budget because of lack of funds, and when you consider the former mayor got recalled and now is under indictment for bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and other stuff along with her boyfriend. What a circus.
