I often have said on my son Grant’s YouTube channel the 49ers need to do two things to prove they are a serious team, and that is to get rid of two players who were/are deadwood on the team.
The deadwood players are Deebo Samuel and Juice. Dead as deadwood can get.
The 49ers have eliminated half the rot by getting rid of Samuel. For a fifth-round draft pick for heaven’s sake. That tells you all you want to know about Samuel. Neither the 49ers nor the Commanders think he’s worth much. I’m sure the Niners are glad they unloaded the fat malcontent wide receiver, and I bet the Commanders are taking a flyer on him, don’t actually need him to be a good team.
Of course, Samuel thinks he’s worth a lot more. It’s funny how reality slapped him in the face. It slaps everyone in the face.
That Juice guy is the other deadwood dude. Let’s say he’s run out of juice. Whenever he’s on the field a better player must stand on the sideline. No serious team can allow that. Are you listening, Kyle Shanahan?
The Niners must dump Juice before next season. If they do, they are serious. If they don’t, they are playing silly games with themselves.
There exists a bad trend over a long period of time. Dee Ford, Hargrave, Deebo, Jerick McKinnon, and Aiyuk are examples of players that got monster contracts and then never lived up to them. And although I think Purdy is good, I don't feel he's deserving of being paid like a top ten quarterback. So unfortunately this trend may continue. I now live in DC and although I will always remain faithful to my Niners, I have enjoyed what the Commanders did last season. Even though Deebo is not the player he was, I feel they will utilize him wisely, taking balls off jet sweeps, screen passes or returning kick offs. But I generally agree he wasn't of real value anymore--especially when he assaulted Pepper, the long snapper.
I have no doubt that this is an objective opinion piece based on nothing but Kyle J's performance on the field last year! LOL! The Cohn Family is so patently obvious in their attempts to spin facts to fit their chosen narrative.
