With Deebo Samuel there’s always something cooking. I woke up this morning thinking I could relax until the Super Bowl, but no Deebo has been at work, and that means I have to be at work.
It’s been reported that – get this for sheer hilarity – Deebo told Kyle Shanahan at his exit interview he wants to be traded. Turns out Deebo doesn’t think he gets the ball enough or something like that. Hey, I think he gets the ball too much. It’s also been reported the 49ers may honor his request to get lost. Good for them.
So, while he’s been parading around the Super Bowl media center wearing an Eagles jersey he wasn’t, as some fans said, honoring his friend AJ Brown. Heck no, he was advertising he’s no longer a 49er.
To which I shout hallelujah!
In point of fact, I don’t think he’s been a 49er for a long time, not if being a 49er involves being a football player.
Of course, the 49ers should have rid themselves of the chubby wide receiver two seasons ago – Bill Walsh would have. And now, Deebo, generous chap that he is, is doing the 49ers work for them. My son Grant astutely pointed this out on his YouTube channel. Deebo is unDeeboing from the Niners himself because the Niners apparently don’t have the gumption to do it themselves.
Well, thank you, Deebo.
One other small but hilarious point. During Super Bowl Week, Deebo who apparently couldn’t turn down an opportunity to get interviewed, wanted to explain he hates losing. Instead of calling himself a bad loser, he actually really truly said, “I’m one of the biggest losers ever.”
You read it here.
I’m very pleased that they will be moving on from this immature diva. He can’t run routes, he can’t get separation, and he chooses when to actually give it his all, which isn’t very often. Smacking a player on the sideline as if he was “all that” was another stunt I didn’t care for. I’m not sure why Shanny gave him so much rope. That alone gives me pause in thinking we have a top notch coach. This will be a blessing, even with a cap hit. Another necessary step in restoring order to this team.
It's a joke they let him be the one to air this. Complete weakness from Kyle and John. If he hasn't already John needs to take some control back because I'm sure if it were up to Kyle he would be getting a 5yr extension. Unreal mismanagement of an underperforming bum
